Enable HDR Photos on iPod touch 4G [Jailbreak Req]

HDR Photos function was awesome feature on iPhone 4. We already showed you that HDR Photos feature can work on jailbroken iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS using some tweaks available in Cydia. Now it also runs on jailbroken iPod touch 4G, thanks to the recently released jailbreak tools as Limera1n and Greenpois0n.
You have to jailbreak your iPod touch 4G using our guides posted here to jailbreak iPhone, iPod touch and iPad using Limera1n or GreenPois0n. Then navigate to Cydia and search for “iPod Touch 4 HDR Enabler” under ModMyi repository. Once downloaded, go activate it from Winterboard app.

Before you leave, you can check our full iPhone apps gallery for both Cydia apps and App Store apps. Also take a look on our iPad apps gallery.

Enable HDR and Game Center on Jailbroken iPhone 3G / 3GS running iOS 4.1

When Apple released iOS 4.1, it announced HDR photos for iPhone 4, and Game Center for iPhone 4 / 3Gs. So, iPhone 3G / 3GS users was not satisfied as much as other users with iOS 4.1 as they don't get HDR or Game Center, so, after the release of Redsn0w 0.9.6 to jailbreak iPhone 3G on iOS 4.1 and Sn0wbreeze to jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1, you can now get both HDR photos and Game Center on jailbroken iPhone 3G / 3GS running iOS 4.1 with "HDR/GameCenter Enabler" tweak.

There's nothing easier than installing this tweak and enabling HDR photos and Game Center which Apple completely denied the compatibility of this feature on iPhone 3G. Of course this tweak works only on iPhone 3G running iOS 4.1. You can follow this guide posted here to jailbreak iPhone 3G using Redsn0w or this guide posted here to jailbreak iPhone 3GS then tap to Cydia and search for "HDR/GameCenter Enabler" then hit the "install" button.

Note: This tweak is available on Modmyi repo, works only on iOS 4.1, and can be activated once installed via Winterboard.

HDR Camera Enabler still works on iOS 4.1, so your iPhone must be jailbroken on iOS 4.1 to enable this function using HDR Camera Enabler.
There's already a way to jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 using a modified version of PwnageTool, you can check the guide posted here, or wait for public jailbreak (may be GreenPois0n or SHAtter) for iOS 4.1. We will keep you informed.

Enable HDR Photos on iPhone 3GS, 3G [How to Guide]

As we promised before, the iPhone hacker Will Strafach has successfully developed his new tweak to enable HDR photos on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G which is avaialble for iPhone 4 only! but remember it needs a jailbroken iPhone 3GS / 3G on iOS 4.1 which is not jailbroken for public right now, but it will be available as soon as it's ready. Stay tuned!!
Here's the steps mentioned by the genius Will:
Step 1: You need a jailbroken iPhone on iOS 4.1, Wait for a public jailbreak for iOS 4.1 and we will update for guides.
Step 2: Install OpenSHSH from Cydia by navigating to Search tab in Cydia and search for "OpenSHSH" then install it.
Step 3: You have to grab the following files:
  • If you have an iPhone 3G, grab the file located at /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N82AP.plist
  • If you have an iPhone 3GS, grab the file located at /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/N88AP.plist
Step 4: Add a key named “hdr-image-capture” with a boolean value of “true” to the “capabilities” section of this property list
Step 5: Save it, and use SSH to replace the copy on the device with your modified version
Step 6: Restart SpringBoard, or just reboot your device. You should now have access to the HDR setting in the camera application.
