Jailbreak iOS 4.1 with Redsn0w 0.9.6 for Windows on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G [How-to-Guide]

Few minute ago we reported you about the new released version of redsn0w v0.9.6b1 for Windows, which allows you to jailbreak your iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G running iOS 4.1, here is we already prepared the how-to-guide to jailbreak your iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G devices on iOS 4.1

Steps:
Step 1: Download iOS 4.1 for your version of iPhone 3G / iPod Touch 2G (download links at the end).
Step 2: Update to this latest firmware using the IPSW file you just downloaded via iTunes 10.
Step 3: Launch Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 (download links at the end) and Browse for iOS 4.1 Firmware. 
Step 4: Select "Install Cydia" and click on Next

 Step 5: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

Step 6: At this stage you will need to put your iPhone in DFU mode by holding “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

Step 7: You will Get a Jailbroken Device as soon as the process ends.

Note: If you have an unlocked iPhone 3G with ultrasn0w, you have to stay away from Redsn0w, as it updates your baseband to latest version, which is still unlockable till now.

Jailbreak iOS 4.2 on iPhone 3G / iPod touch 2G with Redsn0w 0.9.6 [Not-Official]

MuscleNerd the well-known Dev-Team member, just sent on his twitter a confirmation about the cabability of the newly released redsn0w 0.9.6b1 to jailbreak iOS 4.2 on iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G. Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 is officially jailbreak iOS 4.1 / 4.0 on iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G.

Since some will try it anyway: this redsn0w will also JB 4.2beta1 by pointing it at the 4.1 ipsw, but it's *very* broken (flickers, etc)

You can jailbreak iOS 4.2 on your iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G, but at your own risk, you can check our jailbreak guide posted here, but make sure you browsed on redsn0w to iOS 4.1 (not iOS 4.2), the all other steps are the same. How to: Unlock iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 Using Ultrans0w

After releasing the new iOS 4.1, we showed you yesterday how to jailbreak your iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.1 using PwnageTool method, today I will show you how to unlock your iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 with ultrasn0w to use it with any carrier.

STEP 1: You should have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 using PwnageTool ONLY, you can follow the step by step guide to jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 posted here.

STEP 2: After Jailbreaking, Navigate to Cydia Source by Going to Cydia --> Manage --> Sources.

STEP 3: Touch on “Edit” and then on “Add”. Type "http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com" then hit "Add Source". Ultrasn0w will be added to your Cydia Source lists.

STEP 4: After you install Ultrasn0w in your Cydia sources list, Search for "ultrasn0w 1.1-1" and install this app, and it will automatically unlock your iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1.

STEP 5: Restart you iPhone, Done.

Congratulations, Now you have a Jailbroken and Unlocked iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 , you can now use your iPhone 3G with any carrier.
